Inspired by Japan: My Print

This is my print for the Baren Forum's Inspired by Japan Project, along with a couple of process shots. The prints will be sold to support recovery efforts in Japan. I'm grateful for the opportunity to participate in this project and excited to see these prints travel.

Title: Strength and Hope

Paper Size: 10 x 15"

Image Size: 8 x 13"

Block: Shina

Ink: Akua Intaglio

Edition size: 33

Process:
Printed on an etching press. 5 colors printed from one block. The first two colors (pale, transparent green and pale, transparent yellow ochre) were printed using a stencil, which I placed over the block, rolled with ink, then removed to print. The next three colors (light blue-gray, dark blue-gray, and black) were printed as a reduction print, with the unwanted areas of the block being carved away with each color.
