Plans for the press on back on! We ended up deciding to make the basement laundry/untility/storage room also an art space so we can put the press down there. Though it won't be easy, it will definitely be easier. The transition to working in the basement will be its own challenge, but that basement room was actually one of the things that drew me to this house when we were house-hunting--I figured I'd end up in the basement eventually once our family started to grow, and the room is actually fairly big when you imagine it without all the junk (actually removing all the junk will be a summer project). There's also the laundry sink right there, which will be great for clean-up. Unfortunately, there are no windows in that room and it is dark, dark, dark. I will also have to always be caught up on laundry to keep the space clear. Can toddlers do laundry?

Meanwhile, I spent time tidying up my current workspace this weekend. I'm not going to move all at once, and I need it to be functional for now. This was the first weekend in at least three months when I didn't have to work or travel, so we did lots of normal weekend things, including a trip to Wegmans (best grocery store ever). I know that doesn't sound romantic, but it totally is. Wegmans is THE grocery store in Syracuse, and the first time Christian and I "went out" together, we went grocery shopping! I remember laughing so hard on that trip that my stomach kind of hurt. A good sign!

Syracuse? NY? Wow, I'm over in Auburn, about 30 minutes west. How wierd! Have been reading your blog for a few months now after seeing it on the Baren Forum listserv. I love your work!

Hi Jen! Thanks for your comment :) It's a small world! Christian and I both went to SU, so we are quite fond of NY. We live in Baltimore now, and there is a new Wegmans in our area!
Good luck with your new space. The room with my presses doesn't have windows but careful use of "daylight" bulbs makes it a pleasant, cosy place to print. I didn't have steps to content with but did have to take the doorframe off to let the press movers in.
What type of press are you getting?
Andy
It's the Conrad E18. I can't wait til it gets here, but it will probably be about 3 months!
